two days ago outside General Office...

"do you think we'll get gold this year?"
"dunno leh all the comments like very bad like that"
"mr shi seems kind of disappointed in us too"

Today!
Arrived early in the morning at 6 o clock
Everyone got changed into their HOT PINK costumes
The girls had to do their makeup and use the BOYS toilet -_-
oh whatever...onli aaron was affected by that haha!
(he needs to use it urgently you see)

Had a few last practices and left for Singapore Conference Hall

Seriously my heart was racing like mad..
which was totally not like that yesterday
somehow i kept thinking abt our playing and felt tt we
really needed to get gold this year...
The bus trip was kinda tense
I just slept lar..
while the helpers were kinda gossiping abt something i dunno..
lol..

Reached S'pore Conference Hall faster than i expected..
The registration was very very boring and sian
Just stood there waiting and waiting
kinda amusing looking at the faces of the other schools
Cos they are like looking at this grp of Bright Pink guitarists
standing thre..haha!
yea and my guitar slipped...
and...."BANG"
then...mrs koh's voice came simultaneously after..
"Edison how many times do you have to drop the guitar"
ok luh...sorry..lol..

Entered the tuning room after registration..
It was dam good..
hahas..
so we played a lil..to get ready..
and i almost sat wrong place...din realise everyone was
sitting in their original positions...Lol
and so jasmine and julia were like reminding me
later not to sit wrong -_-

OUTSIDE THE HALL
okay at this point i was totally nervous liao..
hahas..ironically at the same time i'm cooling ppl down..
Lol!
The feeling of standing there was very different for me
cos 2 years ago..when i just tranfered cca to guitar
i was a helper standing there
and i left the ensemble when they went in
NOW
i'm part of the ensemble..
its a feeling i carn explain..lol..

Actually...everything was happening so fast..
(although rather systematically)
when i entered the hall,expecting to go backstage first
WE WERE WALKING UP THE STAGE
so i'm like okayyy *act professional*
hahas..
Nothing went wrong fortunately,
and i sat safely in my seat without causing damage
(ok seriously i'm not tt lousy)
and yay mr shi came in and we started playing!
The first song was ok..
abit faster than normal..
but ok..
and some bloody idiot from another sch sitting in the audience
used a mirror to direct light into my eyes..
i must've looked like a threat to them haha!
so they tried to make me fumble..LOL (bhb)
but lucky i shifted my head a lil so mr shi's head was blocking it..

2nd song,
the alumni said it was very good, better than our past practices
THE PHRASING WAS NICE
haha! I'm just glad i played the whole song COMPLETE

After we got off stage..
Mr shi said it was good...
compared to what he said two years ago:

"Confirm get Gold"

yea so i'm like...*worried*
We entered the hall later as audience
So we just sat there..
and enjoyed the remaining few pieces by other schools...
Aside from the one by orchid park secondary,
the rest really freaked us out..
as in...they were good..
yupp..
So we felt ourselves drifting away from gold slowly...
AND TT MRS KOH
walao...when we turned back
she was like signalling to us
"we wun get gold"
LIKE WHAT ON EARTH
so demoralising
felt like smacking her
well..i think she also felt those ensembles after us were
threatening our chance of gold.

After all the ensembles played..
The judges left to go tabulate the results
The girls were very scared
Some were praying really hard...
Some looked like their tears gonna come out le
The boys?
We're just really hopeful..
Jason and i was just trying to keep the hopes up..
Crapping abt what we're gonna do to the judges
IF we recieve bad results(crap of course)
And crapping what we're gonna do
IF we get good results(also crap of course)
said something like removing the chairs and throwing it
(not me)
HAHA!
Yea we guys were relli silent
Ok then after goodness how long
the judges finally came..
*panic*
Then this Emcee of some sort came forward to announce
Started by thanking every single judge, tgt with their career positions
like...we really didnt want to noe abt tt much..
=P
FINALLY RESULTS CAME
some schools like cheung cheng high
which we expected to get gold
got silver..
and many schools bfore us got like...bronze silver silver...
so we were really frantic
Woodlands secondary got gold..
AND THEY SCREAMED/SHOUTED/JUMPED etc
everyone was like =.=
Anglo Chinese School Independant got GoldWithHonours
They din really make much reaction..LOL
towards our turn...we were like really devastated
i dunno abt the rest lar
but at the point of GT013
my heart beat really fast
closed eyes and clenched fist
"GT014 Anglican High School GOLD WITH HONOURS"
A surge of overwhelming happiness ran through me
accompanied by deafening screams
Was really happy beyond words..
I nvr had that kind of happiness before serious...
was like shouting YES YES YES along with the boys
Cos we carn scream...
My phone was recording summore...haha!
Then everyone was crying..
Huiyi was behind me and she cried alot...
I guess her hard work and sacrifice really paid off eh?
very sentimental moment...
hee...but i din cry...
as many ppl had hoped =.-
just felt really overwhelmed with emotions
seeing everyone crying and laughing at the same time
Just din let the tears leave my eyes..haha
I guess partly because we din expect this outcome
The joy was doubled
We've been through alot to come to this day
And finally at this perfect ending
we can finally just let out everything
and say that WE'VE DONE IT!!
Really can feel the bond between all of the AH guitarians deepening
through this special event
Words really carn explain what i'm feeling yupp..
as i said le..hahas..
really want to thank AHGuitarEnsemble
for giving this special moment to me
