Just ended my work at the Career and Education Fair 2009 yesterday at Suntec Convention Centre after 4 days.
It's really very boring and tiring standing there for the whole day,
repeating the SAME line to everyone who asks

"Are you all employing?"
"Do you have an application form?"
"Why is everyone writing something?"

Answer : No for STB our application is online at this website *points*. This booth is just actually an information booth. As for the application forms you see them filling in, they can be found at Marina Bay Sand and Resort World Sentosa's booths respectively.

I KEPT REPEATING IT. It's really irritating that everyone gets the forms at the two IR's booth, and comes over to OUR (STB) booth to fill it up, creating an illusion that the forms are from us.

There were also special appearances by presidents or CEOs of different companies, like STB, TMIS, TradeWinds, Marina Bay Sands and Resort World.
I particularly liked the speech by this CEO from TMIS. I think he is an ABC (AUSTRALIAN born chinese) Presentation skills suberb, and speech was meaningful.
But aside from all the stoning, i actually took time to observe people. It's a really sad sight, especially the first day, where you see people in their 50s, 60s, looking around for jobs, with a face mixed with desperation and hopefullness. Everytime i tell each of them the minimum qualifications for the jobs, their faces fills up with regret and sadness, as thought mumbling "Why didnt i study hard last time." And turning away, politely saying "thank you".

But well we gotta respect them, because they take time to come down to the career fair, try out for jobs, instead of sitting at home all day, or begging on the streets.

We had ALOT of fun entertaining ourselves during this 4 days. Ranging from singing along to the songs played at the booth, to roaming the fair and playing fake blackjack at a REAL casino table with REAL dealers (coupiers). We even got to know some year 3 seniors. Very nice people. And one of them is Oliver's neighbour (A couple of houses away) Haha. He has found a new activity partner lol. They're earning 10 dollars per hour, and the only thing different about them is that they are wearing uniforms. (The guys wear a chef's attire, and the girls wear maid costumes, which are apparently supposed to represent chambermaids, but looks too seductive LOL.)

On day 3 we started giving out free goodie bags, which didnt have goodies inside, because we ran out of goodies HAHA. Again the Kiasuism theory is proven. Suddenly, people come from all sides, reaching out for a bag. LOL.Overall....the work experience was fun. Got to know more ppl, and learnt new things. And laughed at alot of ppl. Seriously la the number of eccentric people at the career was DAM HIGH. TONS of weirdos that are both scary and annoying.

Here are the pictures!

Seetoh doing her various photo impressions. This guy here is called Clinton. HAHAHA (As seen from name tag) He has a weird face lolll.
HAHACan you even imagine them as hosts?
Some Ex MP that once appeared in the papers cos he was the guy who got free tickets to every year's NDP. He kept talking abt politics, apparently age has caught up with him and he too has become eccentric. He even gave seetoh his number, a big sign of craziness. HAHA. Look at his hat btw! Super cool! All the badges from everywhere!
This cameraman apparently looks like a chee ko pei HAHA. Dam funny.
Spotted by Oliver. Dont you think it's dam ironic? It suggests that those that came for this year's career fair wont get the job, so, "SEE YOU AGAIN NEXT YEAR" HAHA

BORED BUT CREATIVE.
