Pictures at a later time (Not much actually)Hello!
Don't know if you can actually see the title of this post but yes, its about the David Choi LIVE in Singapore Gig/Concert/Performance (Don't know how to classify it)

It was held at the Esplanade Recital Studio and he performed for a total of 2 days (21st and 22nd) and Fion and I were there to watch him! She had to rush down from work at NUH cos of a jam..oops
Been watching quite a few concerts and seeing quite a few hard to catch human beings up close in these short months.
For those that don't know, David Choi is a talented Youtube Artiste with videos garnering millions of views. He is part of the same Youtube community as Kevjumba, Ryan(Niga)Higa and so on.
He came once last year in 2010 to perform at Baybeats, and I heard he stayed for a week or so? It's awesome that this time he managed to get a nice theatre-like venue with brillant acoustics.
So...
...how can one person perform, with him only a guitar a mic and some chairs, for 1 hour and 45 minutes without boring the audience?

Well he can, as he came that day armed with his arsenal of self composed hit singles all stored in his brain. After every song he also made it a point to interact with the audience, poking fun at random things and brought up random topics.
It's interesting how the way he talks and phrases sentences makes everything sound funny. He also has that a tinge of that Crazy-American complex, which was seen in many examples throughout the show.
The Water BottleWater was actually provided for him on the platform beside him. However, the labels were taken off because it was seen as 'free advertising'. Early in the show he was like "I feel like breaking the rules" and he looked at the bottle cap's brand. "ICE MOUNTAIN Everyone" "I'm drinking from Ice Mountain, great water." And throughout the show it became an inside joke.
No Photography? After performing his 2nd song, he said he realised something rather odd, and that there were no cameras around. He probably saw some people sneaking a few shots here and there. So everyone was like saying "They said no photography was allowed in this concert."
So he was like "Why not?" and other things that were tactfully and jokingly put that I could summarise crudely as "Let's break the rules. Snap away". The ushers at the theatre didn't really know what to do in this situation but i think some left the theatre to consult some superiors. Nothing happened after that cos..well..it's HIS concert.
But when people started taking out cameras, omg the studio was filled with flashes. I guess thats the problem with flash photography -.- Then later I realised most of their cameras decided to use flash cos the Stage's light was too bright. I didn't manage to take much photos cos I didn't want to use flash, but I took videos! Haha.
Some key songs he performed were "Youtube (A Love Song)" which was the song that propelled him to fame, "So Weightless", "By My Side", "That Girl", "Valentines", "Wont Even Start" and others. Basically he performed most of his hits. He also did a cover of "Rocketeer" by Far East Movement. He even did some of his newer unreleased songs like "You were my friend".
He played a couple of games with the audience as well, because he had some impromptu autographed Lyric booklets to give away.
First few were given to questions that were answered correctly, like "Where was David from."
The next few were given to people who danced the little dance he reportedly does on Youtube.
The last booklet was saved to the last, and he decided to use social media to help him with this, as he had an iPad2 with him.
He told the audience who had Twitter accounts to get ready to tweet @davidchoimusic tgt with a specific word he will give, and the 10th tweet will win the booklet.
So, I took out my phone, thank goodness I have 3G.
The word was "Ice Mountain"
I typed typed typed, and waited awhile....
...then I sent...
So he was looking at all the tweets coming in...started counting...and then he announced the 10th Tweet.
..."Ediang"
OMG. I was like whatheshit where got so zhun. Then Fion burst out laughing in disbelief.
I then walked towards the stage where he was sitting to receive my prize.
Don't remember much of the details because I was quite in shocked. He then asked "Are you nervous?"
Then the only thing I could think of was "Haha..awkward"
Then he was like "Yeah it is quite awkward, Today's an awkward day" (Referring to the previous awkward moments in the show)
Damn I sldve said that sounded nicer lol.
Then he gave me a hug...not in a weird way, cos well, all the previous winners all got a hug because some girl requested it.
But it was awesome, I got the autographed lyrics booklet of his Album "By My Side", which was the album that had the most songs I liked. Too bad I dont get a photo moment cos my DSLR battery died.
Fun fact, David Choi's birthday is the same as mine! 22nd March! I just knew.
Okayyy imma stop here.
