Hello!
It's nice seeing some support from my friends in my album "Perspectives" on Facebook.
However, i'm not turning into a full fledged photography enthusiast, in case you're thinking..
I kinda invested like a bomb on my first DSLR, so I really want to take some nice pictures with it :D

Was kinda messing around with Black and White effects today at home...
When I saw it on some instructional video I was like *Facepalm* How could I forget theres this function on my camera?!

And so I tried out a little..can tell I'm like randomly snapping and adding the B&W effect to see if it'll by sheer luck, turn out nice.
Then I had this really ridiculous brain wave.
I knew such B&W shots work damn well with dark places that had light filtering through...
...So this particular place came into my mind...
I've actually been to this place before, it's very near my house and very rarely visited by people.
It's not exactly the kind of place you'd actually be in before unless you really had to.
...THAT place...is the Roadside Drain.

It's those drains you see on pavements by the road side, that makes a familiar "Cluck Cling" sound when cyclists go over them.
Am I crazy for going down there? Well not exactly so.
It was in 2007 when I first went down there. (yeah 4 years ago)
On my way home from school one day I dropped my EZlink card into the gaps in the drain, and to my shock I saw the card, with my face facing up flowing fast down the stream.
I really didn't want my card to appear somewhere else in Singapore with dirt and smudge on it looking dam awful, and also, it IS sort of an Identity Card, so i chased after it.
I then came to this particular drain cover that had a ladder in it. So I lifted the cover and went down.
When I was down there, the first thing that hit me was that...
There was no smell...
I thought there'd be like an awful stench but it was really just like I was above it, stench-less.
The walls, the lighting and the ruggedness of everything was so bad-ass it laid an impression in me. It looked like those places you'd see in horror movies, or in those gothic pictures.
For a moment I stood there and I was like..wow..
...then I saw my 'face' slowly floating towards me and I knew its time to get it and get the hell out of there.

So today I decided to go back down that dark unknown place, hoping that with all the years, there wouldn't be a smell, to take a picture of that hauntingly beautiful place that laid an impression on me.

Not exactly the best photo I must say...Considering the fact I was in a rush to go up because I had NO idea what insects are down there, and that people were actually staring when I went down.
I was just pleased to see that nothing much has changed, still had that Heaven-above-hell-below look to it.
Isn't amazing I didn't have to go all the way to Old Changi Hospital to take something like this? Just below my house.
Lol.
