Haven't you ever felt like you're just this small insignificant person, incapable of making a difference, influencing others.
Let's not talk about the billions, just the hundreds of people you know exist around you..
90 - 95% of them are probably people you say hi and bye to, people you try hard to remember if you've seen them before, or people who are in your facebook friend list but you dont know why.
4+% are people you are currently interacting with. Your part time colleagues, your school mates, your teachers, your friends' friends that you somehow came to know. People who don't have an obligation to be there for you in your dire straits, people who wouldn't be there unless you called for them, vice versa.
Less than 1% are people who care for you. Your family, your best friends, your girl/boyfriend, your admirer or stalker. People who appear around you without being called. People who would notice when you're moody, when you lost weight, or you're going through stress. People who have made a personal obligation to be one of the first to be there for you when you need a listening ear or a person for company.
How many friends do you have who treasure you to an extent, that they'd put aside their stuff just to fly over to accompany you when in need.
That
Is a true measure of how good a friend you are.
I admit i'm not the best person for a friend. I'm selfish at times, hopelessly untalented, not rich, boring to talk to at times.
So i guess i shouldnt really sigh over having so little of that 1%
